INDX Accessories AW17: Spot the trends

From architectural influences, understated luxury and clean silhouettes to heritage styling, chunky hardware and fake fur, the AW17 accessories trends hold something for everyone! Archetype.

The Archetype theme is heavily influenced by interiors, as accessories take on a more homely feel and materials look to interior surfaces and upholstery for inspiration. Hardware is functional and  fastenings and closures become a key feature. Architectural influences and industrial processes are also apparent, through simple but sophisticated construction details.

Outlands.

The Outlands aesthetic features clean silhouettes and simple shapes, toughened up with hardwearing fabrics. Country styles are modernised - with heritage outdoor accessories layered with urban influences and masculine design creeps in through oversized rucksakcs and chunky hardware. Fake fur replaces the real thing in saturated colour options.

Synthesis.

'Retro' is a more subtle influence on the Synthesis trend, with period influences becoming less obvious and bags offering a 'less is more' approach. Luxury is understated – maximalist details converge with minimalist shapes & materials and bold but restrained colour-blocking is key. Ladylike looks are subverted for youth appeal and the lines between accessories and apparel are blurred.

After Dark.

Nightwear becomes daywear in the After Dark aesthetic with velour and jewels styled down for everyday use. Goth and grunge combine, drawing on both romantic and tomboy styling and resulting in tough dressing with a distinctly upmarket feel and appeal.
